I tried today the Golden Matte Fluid acrylic paint with an Airbrush (Badger Renegade Velocity), I tried the white, a tricky color to use in order to paint a miniature with your airbrush. I am super pleased ! Matte enough, really easy to dilute, with a nice and smooth application.

Cheap dry pigments
I use a lot of dry pigments in very different ways and I like to have choices. A great way to have always pigments on hand is to buy a cheap box of dry pastels and to use sand paper. The pictures speak for themselves.

Green Stuff World UV Resin review
Another product I wanted to try, the UV resin by Green Stuff World. You need the resin and a UV torch. I had to buy the torch too. I already develop photos with UV so it was kind of fun to follow the polymerization live. The resin turn hard pretty quickly but the surface stay sticky for a while so I decided to let them outside under the sun for 30 mn. Everything turned nicely.
What is my opinion? Does the product worth the money ? Hell yes ! The resin cure super fast, you can add inks to change the color, it is super convenient for small / medium areas. I won't use this resin for huge surfaces and please use it with a ventilated location, the resin will heat and smell, nothing nasty but it is a chemical so take care of your lungs! I simply use a plastic box and close it with my models inside during curing.

Green Stuff World, Intensity ink review
Another product I wanted to try from Green Stuff World. And trust me NO disapointment. These ink is superb !!! The color is like a burnt umber but strictly desaturated. Of course you get high pigmentation as usual for an ink and you can dilute the ink quite a lot. You get also some shininess but just the right amount. The thing I like A LOT with this ink is the viscosity, just enough to flow where you want but with a lot of control too. I wish I can try the all range !
I recommend 100 %.
Golden matte fluid acrylics. Can we use them for minis ?
It has been a big topic all over the net, can we use acrylics for artists to paint miniatures. I will answer right away, the answer is yes ! I know I just killed the suspens but let me develop with a little review.
I had the chance to try some Golden matte fluid acrylics and I am pretty impressed. Let's start with that first, yes they are expensive but miniatures paints are expensive too... They are HIGH quality and you get 30 ml. Their shininess is PERFECT between matte and satin, exactly what I like. They have a good viscosity, almost a jelly texture but very light.
Let's cooked the chicken into the pot right now. These paints won't be ok to paint armies unless you like to paint with a lot of different layers with transparency for months. The paints are very translucide and this is why I like them. So yes, these paints are more for an artistic approach.
I tried them straight out of the pot, under a wet pallet with nothing, Flow Aid from Liquitex, Lahmiam medium, Glaze from Vallejo and my daily thiner for airbrush, distilled water. I won't enter into a long development, it is really easy to dilute these paints with everything period !
The blue was very transparent, which is good if you work with multiple layers, the ocre and red were almost the same, the black has a very high coverage and the white also. To be honest I will use this white for everything, the color is very opaque and flows smoothly with the brush. By the way each color has a chart about opacity and other things on the label, very handy. I tried some simple blends and I got a really deep smooth grey.
So, final thought. These paint are high quality and if you like to work with layers or glazes, they are superb. If you want to paint an army they won't help you so much. My initial interrogation was, can I dilute high quality acrylic paints for artist and get the consistency I want to paint my miniatures ? The answer is yes. Do I recommend Golden matte fluid acrylics paints. The answer is again yes, These paints can handle a very high dilution with a very high pigments concentration. Colors are rich and vibrant.
Next time, I ll try some with my airbrush, so stay tuned.
Green Stuff World Colorshift Metal paint review
I wanted to try these paints for quite a while so I decided to ordered some. I am currently painting a Nurgle Army for myself and I want to speed up the process. I like to play with fancy minis but I do not paint for a customer or for a contest so I want to paint good as fast as I can, period.
I did not try the all range but the Martian green... Just exactly what I was looking for. Very easy to apply, one coat, a nice "fly" color effect. I can't wait to try some oil wash and rusty effects. I also want to try some with other metal paints.
Yes I am pleased and yes I think it is a great paint.
I am back with a vengeance
It has been a while ! Sorry but between commissions, bees (I am a beekeeper), trip to France to see family and friends, and work, social medias were more handy to use. I will feed this blog more during the months to come with maybe more product reviews or tutorials. I tried the video format but to be honest it is very long and I can't spent right now 10 hours in editing. I hope one day...
Okay ! But for now let's shot some reviews !
